By sending nanoemulsion formulations on a space flight, scientists are investigating whether chitosan (a material typically derived from shrimp) performs well in controlling medicine delivery when exposed to zero gravity.
This experiment, named StarMed, is being conducted by a team from the University of Adelaide led by P4S Chief Investigator Professor Volker Hessel, in collaboration with the German Aerospace Center (DLR) Institute of Aerospace Medicine.
