Strawberry was selected as one of four focus plants to be optimised for space and for greater on-Earth sustainability. 

It has the genetic potential to be an all-around sustainable space plant and innovations from space biology will flow to Australian berry growers on Earth. Read more about this in the Australian Berry Journal.
