From the 29th - 31st October 2024, Centre members gathered in Adelaide for our inaugural Annual Conference. Running across three days, the conference opened at the Australian Space Discovery Centre and showcased presentations across plant science, nutrition, food science, engineering, psychology and space law. The research underway re-imagines plant design and bioresource production through the lens of space, delivering innovative solutions that will also enhance sustainability here on Earth.
Alongside presentations, the conference included a panel discussion, EMCR workshop and several networking opportunities, providing a platform for Centre members to exchange ideas, learn new skills and plan for the year ahead.
We extend a special thanks to plenary speaker Dr Gioia Massa (NASA Kennedy Space Center) and guest speaker Cale Matthews (Behind the News), as well as conference organisers and volunteers.
